Behind She's Got a Village is a family with a shared mission: ensuring no parent has to face life's toughest moments alone.
Our leadership team is made up of two sisters whose own journeys with premature babies inspired the creation of this organization, along with their mother, whose heart for serving others has helped shape our mission from the very beginning. Together, we combine personal experience, compassion, and a deep commitment to supporting families through pregnancy, the NICU, and beyond.
Get to know the people behind our mission by reading each of our individual stories below. Every journey is unique, but each one reflects the heart behind She's Got a Village and our commitment to being the village every family deserves.
Founder and President of She's Got A Village
Ashlynn and Lizzie
My passion for serving families comes from my own journey into motherhood. My daughter, Lizzie, came into this world much earlier than expected. As a first-time mom, I developed severe preeclampsia and was hospitalized for 18 days before delivering at just 30 weeks. Lizzie spent 58 days in the NICU, overcoming one challenge after another.
During that time, I leaned heavily on my husband, family, and friends. Their love and support carried us through, and I often found myself wondering how different our journey would have been without our village. From that realization, She's Got a Village was born.
I've always had a heart for serving others, spending years collecting and donating baby essentials to families in need. I knew I wanted to do more, and creating this village gave me the opportunity to reach even more parents facing difficult circumstances.
My mission is simple: to ensure no family has to choose between providing basic necessities for their child and meeting other essential needs. Every parent deserves support, hope, and a village they can count on.
Motherhood didn't begin the way I imagined. During my pregnancy, I developed severe preeclampsia and was hospitalized for nearly a month before delivering my daughter at just 31 weeks. She weighed only 2 pounds, 8 ounces and spent 63 days in the NICU.
That season was filled with fear and uncertainty, but it also showed me the incredible power of a village. Our family was surrounded by compassionate healthcare workers, family, friends, and even strangers whose kindness carried us through one of the hardest times in our lives.
That experience inspired my passion for supporting other mothers. I know how overwhelming pregnancy, postpartum, and unexpected challenges can be, and I believe every family deserves to feel seen, supported, and loved.
As Vice President of She's Got a Village, I'm honored to help provide essential resources, encouragement, and hope to families who may not have a village of their own. Our mission is simple: to ensure no parent has to face life's challenges alone. If you don't have a village, we're here to be yours.
